The darkroom has me spoiled. Black and white has been such a nice break from the digital world this crazy semester. I had camera problems early in the semester with my favoured Nikon N2020. My darkroom teachers told me it had probably bitten the dust, but blessed me with an FM10 that has been a dream. It was halfway through a roll when I lost the N2020, so I rolled it up and put it in the FM10. I hadn’t decided to shoot over what was there entirely when I started but I ended up doing just that. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made and I’m infinitely happy with the results. I think I could spend a lot of time shooting over rolls!
The thaw was creating some brilliant reflections in puddles and the taunting weather made it all to pleasant to shoot on my walks to and from school or the bus. Every time I shoot a roll I don’t think it will work out, and this one was no exception. I think maybe it just makes it that much better when it does work out. There was also some really great light moments on this roll that I adore. The lilies shot especially, the shadows are brilliant.
I’ll have some long exposures for my final post for the darkroom because the last couple classes are coming up (and I’m going to cry for sure). I’m already looking forward to the next time.
